studio Policies

  • The Turquoise Cup (“the Studio”) is committed to providing a welcoming, creative, educational, and safe environment for all guests, students, members, staff, instructors, and visitors.

    By attending classes, workshops, private events, open studio sessions, camps, parties, or any activity hosted by The Turquoise Cup, guests agree to comply with all Studio policies outlined in this document.

    The Studio reserves the right to refuse service, deny participation, remove guests, cancel reservations, or terminate memberships due to unsafe behavior, disruptive conduct, harassment, failure to follow policies, or nonpayment.

    All guests participate at their own risk.

  • Guests are expected to:

    • Treat staff, instructors, volunteers, and fellow guests respectfully.

    • Follow all verbal and written safety instructions.

    • Use tools, glazes, materials, and equipment appropriately.

    • Maintain a clean and respectful workspace.

    • Refrain from disruptive, abusive, aggressive, discriminatory, or unsafe behavior.

    The Studio prohibits:

    • Harassment or bullying of any kind.

    • Intoxication or drug use on Studio property.

    • Unsafe operation of pottery wheels, kilns, tools, or equipment.

    • Unauthorized use of restricted equipment.

    • Bringing weapons onto the premises.

    Guests who fail to follow Studio rules may be asked to leave without refund.

  • Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise approved by management.

    The Studio accepts approved payment methods listed on the website.

    Registrations are not guaranteed until payment is received.

    Prices, class schedules, workshop offerings, and event availability are subject to change without notice.

    Late arrivals may miss important safety instruction or demonstrations. The Studio reserves the right to deny participation to excessively late guests without refund.

    Some classes and workshops may require minimum enrollment to run. If minimum enrollment is not met, the Studio may cancel or reschedule the session.

  • Classes & Workshops

    • Cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the event may receive studio credit or transfer options.

    • Cancellations within 7 days of a class or workshop are generally nonrefundable.

    • No-shows and excessively late arrivals are not eligible for refunds or credits.

    • Transfers to another date are subject to availability.

    Private Parties & Events

    • Deposits are nonrefundable unless otherwise stated in writing.

    • Final headcounts and balances are due by the deadline communicated by the Studio.

    • Last-minute reductions in attendance do not reduce contracted minimums.

    Weather & Emergency Closures

    If the Studio closes due to weather, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, guests will be offered rescheduling options, studio credit, or alternative accommodations at the Studio’s discretion.

  • Paint-your-own pottery projects include clear glazing and kiln firing unless otherwise specified.

    Guests understand glaze appearance may vary after kiln firing. Pottery pieces are food-safe only when properly glazed and fired. Certain specialty finishes may carry additional fees.

    Guests are responsible for following painting instructions and labeling procedures.

    The Studio is not responsible for:

    • Glaze imperfections.

    • Color variation.

    • Cosmetic irregularities.

    • Damage caused by improper guest handling.

    Completion timelines are estimates and may vary based on kiln schedules.

  • Clay projects require drying, glazing, and kiln firing time.

    Guests acknowledge:

    • Clay is fragile before firing.

    • Cracking, warping, explosions, and breakage may occur despite proper handling.

    • Clay projects are not guaranteed to survive the firing process.

    The Studio reserves the right to refuse firing of pieces that may damage kilns or other work.

    Clay projects left unclaimed beyond the pickup window may be discarded.
